Do you have a lovely clean, crisp, white business card? Yes? Why?
Isn’t everyone else’s card just like that? To stand out from the crowd you need to be different, so does your business card. Make them a little bit unusual – whether it be the shape (square, round, oval), textured, or non-white colour. Perhaps include a photo of yourself, or include a few business tips on the reverse.
Top Tip: It’s really useful to write on the back of a business card that someone gives you where and when you met. I also go that little bit further and include any physical features to create a picture in my mind, e.g. tall, short, long hair, glasses. I have even been known to put “horrible person!” or “really lovely – definitely stay in touch”. With this in mind, I HATE laminated business cards or ones that have a dark background – they are useless for writing on. Remember – most people have a business card wallet or the box the printer provided, so don’t make your cards so different that they don’t fit into one of these. An ‘odd’ size means your card is destined for the bin!
