The 2011 event was held on Thursday 22nd September at Dorking Halls and the exhibition area had a real buzz as I walked around the stands. I was at the event as I had been asked to run one of the seminars so my Blooming Business Blogs talk got an update and an airing.
I love speaking at events and I love explaining marketing to business owners so this was the perfect opportunity to combine the two. Once I and the audience were warmed up and in the blogging vibe, there were some interesting questions posed, ranging from: “what could I blog about?” to “what if someone leaves abusive comments, do I have to show them?” and pretty much every area in-between – we covered a lot of ground in the 45 minute slot.
My seminar was the last of the day which, in my experience, is not always the best in terms of getting bums on seats (being known as the graveyard shift) but it did not seem to matter as pre-bookings showed that this blogging slot was one of the most popular … phew … and the feedback was fabulous darling! Not only did my talk receive an average feedback score of 9 out of 10, but the comments that delegates made the effort to return were also great. Here’s a few:
When asked, “What actions will you take away?”:
“Start a blog editorial calendar and get organised.”
“Start blogging again.”
“I now feel confident to set up my blog.”
When asked for feedback on the quality of the seminar:
“Great first introduction as to what blogs are about and how to get started”
“A really clear and useful session – the best of the day”
“Very helpful seminar which was clear, easy-to-understand and enjoyable”
If you want to get in on the action and learn how to make yours a Blooming Business Blog then either get in touch with us or fill in your details on the form that pops-up on this website and we’ll let you know when our new Blooming Business Blogs e-Programme goes live.
