If you have never networked before, and the mere thought makes you break out in a cold sweat, try starting off online to get the hang of it, from a distance. Once your confidence increases go to some events. You never know, you might even like it. The worst that can happen is that you make more people aware of you and your company. The best is that you may pick up some new business – and that can’t be bad.
Top tip: If you go to an event make sure you have a good supply of business cards to hand out and have thought about your elevator pitch.
