An unprecedented 38 members stood for election, and I was one of 20 on the ‘open’ list for just 8 available seats on Council.
Voting by CIPR members has been taking place for the last 3 weeks and there was a really strong field of candidates. I felt honoured to be in their company and am humbled by those who voted for me.
From reading the statements of those that have been elected alongside me, the CIPR Council is filled with people committed to representing the interests, and championing the credentials, of PR professionals. The modernisation agenda, started by this year’s President, Stephen Waddington, is in full swing and I am fully behind next year’s President, Sarah Pinch and President-Elect, Rob Brown – both of whom I am proud to say nominated me to stand for election – with their plans to move the profession forward.
Great things are ahead for PR professionals.
