It was day 8 of judging today so that is Crisis Communications and Automotive all done now.
In the last few years it has been pretty easy to predict the subjects entered into the Crisis Communications category … 2010 was flooding and 2011 was flooding and the ash cloud … so I got to thinking before today’s session about what happened last year that would be reflected in the entries. It appears there wasn’t anything of great significance as the shortlist was wide open: hair testing for substance abuse, animals under quarantine for testing, Nottingham after the August riots, making Simon Cowell pay for a David vs Goliath battle, and an accusation of workers being sacked for being British.
The afternoon was heaven for petrolheads (which the judges were) as it was the Automotive category. The judges had to find a winner (which they did) from luxury brands, car dealerships, performance engines, pick-ups and insurance.
We hit the half-way mark for judging this morning – 87 interviews completed with just 69 to go and all by the end of next Thursday 3rd May.
Nearing the end of judging means we are closer to the Awards Dinner on Monday 28th May at the London Hilton on Park Lane. Have you bought your tickets yet?
