Day 14 of Excellence Award judging 2012

CIPR Excellence AwardsWell, that’s that then.  The judging for the 2012 CIPR Excellence Awards is now over.

The final category interviews were held this morning for Outstanding PR Consultancy.  The three judges ran over time as there was lots of deliberation due to the high level of those shortlisted – this is one of the most hotly-contested awards after all.

This afternoon’s panel session was really interesting as it was the Judges’ Award for the Best Use of Measurement and Evaluation.  The winners of each campaign category were scrutinised by an expert panel to determine which best demonstrated excellence in the use of measurement and evaluation.  The judges were disheartened by the prevalence of AVEs included in entries, even though the awards guidelines clearly state that this form of measurement will not be considered in the judging, which meant the ultimate winner clearly stood out.

That’s 28 winners from 28 categories all sorted and 156 interviews held over a 14 day period.  The one thing remaining before the winners will be announced is the Awards dinner on Monday 28th May.  The only thing standing between you and being there to hear the winners’ names called out is whether you have purchased a ticket.  Head over to the CIPR website and book your tickets there.

Being a part of the Excellence judging is something I love to do.  It is so interesting to meet people with such great skills, creativity and business acumen.  I am honoured to have once again reprised my role in the Awards.  Roll on Excellence 2013.

Good luck to everyone I met during the shortlist interviews – I hope you celebrate your success on the 28th May.
