Day 11 of Excellence Award judging 2012

CIPR Excellence AwardsIt was day 11 of judging today so Integrated & Marketing Communications and External Publication can now be ticked off the list of the 28 categories to be judged.

The great thing about today was the realisation of how wide a pool of talent the shortlisted entries come from, in terms of geography.  We nearly managed to get all nations of the United Kingdom in front of the panel today but had to make do with the hat trick of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland … no Wales unfortunately.

The Integrated and Marketing Communications entries were diverse and covered: first-time buyer mortgages, rent collection by a Council, blood donation, higher education funding and the textile industry.  In the External Publication category this afternoon, there were some fabulous examples of work for social housing, a higher education college, NHS Trust, nuclear decommissioning, healthcare and a firm of solicitors.

The judging is very nearly finished now with just three days to go and the countdown is really on … 126 interviews done, 30 remaining.  Judging finishes on Thursday 3rd May.  It’s the turn of Public Affairs and Outstanding Young Communicator tomorrow and then we are definitely on the home straight.
