Having spent a lot of time on social media sites personally I felt it was time to start investigating it for business. Aware that this was going to be a very different task and unsure where to start I went on the hunt for a training course. I came across Bojangle and Lindsey Collumbell and booked up.

On arrival I was in two minds as to whether this would bring me the information I needed and in a way I could understand. At the point of arrival I was keen to find out what social media to use, how to create a brand, what is an appropriate message, how much time would I need to commit to this and what the dangers to the business were of going out on interactive medias.

We were told to take laptops with us. This was the biggest benefit to the day. Lindsey was clearly exceptionally knowledgable on her subject as well as technical when required. She allowed us to talk directly about how it applied to us and our business and gave both sides of the fence on each media allowing us to make decisions as to how it applied.

The beauty of the day was actually setting up the accounts on our chosen medias and Lindsey supported me hugely in linking all the sites together so when I posted on one it populated the others – a time saving and hitting my total audience.

By the time I left I was clear of what I personally wanted to do with social media. I also had it all set up and could instantly use it and did with gusto! The way the course ran there was no opportunity to forget it nor were we cut loose to implement it unaided.

I would also like to mention the post course support. Lindsey has been a real gem. She has followed my work and commented on it. She has advised me on improvements and given me technical support including taking my passwords and doing some set up for me remotely!

This is a course I would advise to any business owner who is embarking on social media for business. It was fantastic value for money and has allowed me to launch my business on Twitter, Linkedin and Facebook and track the results. I was delighted to have received phonecalls in direct response from the sites within a week.
